Stratocaster and VOX Amp

November 21st, 2008 by Admin

Most of the criticisms I received for the PRS vs Stratocaster Video suggested that I improve the effects and amp I was using. In fact I was using cheap ZOOM effects and have never really thought about 'tone' as much as other guitarists obviously do. I have now purchased better effects (BOSS) and a VOX AD120vt Amp. This short clip features an American Fender Stratocaster 1990 and the VOX amp. I have minimised the effects and tried to get the original Strat and VOX tone. I think there is an improvement in the tone.

PRS vs Stratocaster

Paul Reed Smith vs Fender Stratocaster. The PRS is one of their cheapest models - SE Custom --- the Strat is a American HSS Deluxe QMT - one of the most expensive. I still prefer the Strat but at a third of the price the PRS is an excellent guitar.

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Stratocaster

November 21st, 2008 by Admin

www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is the classic hard-gigging, working man's combo amplifier. 40 Watts of classic 6L6 tube tone that always gets the job done and never lets you down. The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is a serious tone tool for the common guitar player. Andy makes this Hot Rod Deluxe Scream with his Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Relic. With the Hot Rod Deluxe and a Stratocaster, the gigging musician can play anything from dirty blues to rock and still come out in front of the mix. The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe was designed to meet the needs of todays working guitarist. The clean channel yields traditional, sparkly Fender clean tones with bite and punch. When pushed up to the breaking point, the overdrive is spanky and tight with rich harmonic content and dynamic control. The Hot Rod Deluxe overdrive channel yields warm, creamy overdrive reminiscent of Texas blues and southern rock. When pushed into More Drive, the saturation gets thicker and the overdrive starts to sing a song of sustaining leads and rockin rhythms. Fender designed the Hot Rod Deluxe to meet demanding specifications, the first of which is versatility. Todays modern working guitarists need an amp they can rely on for many different applications and the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is that amp.

Jerry Donahue Stratocaster Demo by Forsman

November 21st, 2008 by Admin

So I finally found a Fender Jerry Donahue Hellecaster Stratocaster which I've been looking for several years now! Got it yesterday - 2:nd of August, changed strings and polished the frets, because the strings were black (really old ones) and the the frets was really "rusty" but now it shines like a real beauty and sounds amazing! This guitar is actually two guitars in one, a strat AND a tele, which is one of the main reasons why I've been looking for this guitar. It's very handy to not have to change guitars on stage. There are more info on the internet about this guitar if you're curious about it! Anyway, this is nothing special, just fooling around over a blues-bt to show some of the different sounds this guitar has! Hope you'll enjoy it! Btw, the guitar is recorded directly from the Pod XT Live into my computer, the JSX just stands there for the "show-off-factor" LOL! Cheers!! :)

The encampments are either a pre-embarkation, or a rest area near the front after D-Day or front-line France as the event scenario dictates. Fulltone Fulldrive 2 MOSFET - Part 2 Stratocaster

November 21st, 2008 by Admin

www.ProGuitarShop.com- The Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet overdrive pedal needs no introduction. This combination boost/overdrive pedal has been a hit for a number of years now. The Mosfet version features a switchable Mosfet circuit for a fatter sound and more growl. Featuring a Vintage mode for a midrange heavy overdrive and an FM (flat mids) mode for a more transparent overdrive, the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet has become an industry standard for guitarists. The Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet responds equally well with humbuckers or single coils. This smooth as silk overdrive pedal can give you the blues, or scream like a banshee. With the added Boost, the Fulldrive 2 becomes a lead slingin machine as well. For the ultimate in low to mid gain overdrive pedals, check out the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet.
