Crystal City, Missouri is a small town on the Mississippi River struggling with issues of identity, tough economic times, and environmental accountability.
The factory that built the town 132 years ago moved out almost twenty years ago, but the residents still talk about it like it happened yesterday.
This report was prepared as an entry for the second round of the Project Report journalism contest sponsored by the Pulitzer Center, Sony, & Intel. Visit the Project Report Channel to see all 10 round two entries.

Thanks to all the Crystal City residents who gave so graciously of their time to help me complete this project.
The soundtrack is "The Open Plains" from http://www.freeplaymusic.com/
along with the CCHS marching band.

B.B. King plays live guitar solo. This came from the extras on the DVD The Road to Memphis:
http://www.pbs.org/theblues/aboutfilms/pearce.html
And the only other complete performance by BB on the extras is Key to the Highway, which doesn't have this incredibly searing guitar and is in fact pretty "lite".

This is a segment from D. A. Pennebaker's film, Dont Look Back (a documentary on Bob Dylan's tour of England in 1965). In the film, Dylan holds up cue cards for the audience with words from the song on them. While staring at the camera, he flips the cards as the song plays. Interestingly, there are intentional errors throughout the video. For instance, the song's lyrics say "eleven dollar bills," but the poster says "20 dollars". The video takes place in an alley behind The Savoy Hotel in London where poet Allen Ginsberg makes a cameo appearance.
